He was also a member of the Accademia Italiana Del Peperoncino and head of the Centro Calabria Capsicum, a section of the Academy that studies plants and experiments with their behavior. Before retiring, he was a faculty member of the Department of Agriculture at the University of Pisa. It is safe to say his dedication to studying and growing chili peppers was out of the ordinary, with his extraordinary chili pepper collection of 1,300 varieties and is enviable worldwide. He is a legend and master among chili growers and his strains exist throughout the world. He will forever be loved and remembered by members of the chili community.
